The emergent concepts
introduced as patterns of the twofold operator are the basic revisions
required in the Western scientific paradigm. A summary of these new axioms
is contained in exhibit above.
The patterns
of the new are emergent, discontinuous, and integrative. They are emergent
in that they provide a way of looking at the world which was previously
not available. They are discontinuous in that the change in paradigm is
not a process of gradual evolution but a discontinuous jump to the new.
They are integrative in that the old is not discarded but integrated as
a special case of the new. The old is not wrong, just incomplete.
In the relational paradigm, there is no pattern of the void
or the one. Every form and process in our universe is twofold. There is
always a balancing concept, a contrasting relationship which is required
for perception. All manifestations in the physical universe are twofold.
The patterns
of the relational paradigm and the twofold operator are holographic, that
is to say, they are repeated in all aspects of our reality. I have found
no exceptions to these patterns. However, in many areas the details and
impact of these emergent concepts have yet to be determined.
The holographic
nature of the patterns implies that an understanding of these patterns
can be obtained from multiple sources. Mathematics, on which most of the
existing Western paradigm is based, is only one of many sources from which
an understanding of the relational paradigm can be obtained. An effective
communication of the new should consist of an explanation, a picture,
a demonstration and a story.
